WhatsApp broadcasts โ Meta's FUP rules
WhatsApp is the most effective channel for campaigns โ but Meta punishes spam aggressively. A wrong broadcast = your account banned for days.
๐ซ The cardinal rule
Don't send to people who haven't given you consent. If you get 5+ spam reports โ Meta will ban the number for 24โ72 hours. Repeat offender? Two days more. Again? Permanent.
FUP (Fair Usage Policy) rules
- Rate โ Tamit sends 60โ80 messages an hour, no more. Even if you queue 500 messages, they'll be delivered over 6โ8 hours.
- Variety โ don't send 500 identical messages. At minimum, personalize with the customer's name, and ideally vary the opening too.
- Valuable content โ not just "buy now, sale". Add value (info, a tip, news).
- Consent โ only send to customers who've already messaged you on WhatsApp.
How to send the right way
- Build a clear segment โ not "everyone".
- Marketing โ WhatsApp campaign โ New.
- Write the message. You can use {{first_name}}, {{last_purchase}} as personalization variables.
- Preview with 3 random customers โ make sure it reads personally.
- Schedule โ not on Shabbat, not after 9 PM.
- Send. Tamit will throttle and spread it over the hours.
๐ก Tip
Add "reply /STOP to unsubscribe" to the first message. That cuts spam reports by 10x.
Tracking
After the broadcast, Tamit shows: how many were delivered, how many were read, how many replied, how many unsubscribed. Open rate below 50% = the segment is low quality or the copy isn't compelling.
WhatsApp Cloud (official Meta)
The regular WAHA connection is for small businesses. If you're sending thousands of messages a month โ upgrade to an official Meta connection (costs more, but you get the blue check and higher limits). Coming feature.
