WhatsApp dropped — what to do
The WhatsApp connection via WAHA isn't official Meta — it relies on your phone being online consistently. When it drops, there's a simple way to reconnect.
Why this happens
- The phone was off for more than 14 days.
- You swapped devices/SIMs without migrating WhatsApp.
- Meta updated the WhatsApp Web protocol.
- You manually unlinked the "linked device" from the phone.
Reconnecting
- Settings → Channels → WhatsApp.
- Click Reconnect — a fresh QR is displayed.
- On the phone: WhatsApp → menu → Linked devices → Link a device.
- Scan the QR. Within 10 seconds you'll see "Connected ✓".
- Send a test message.
Messages sent during the outage
While you were disconnected, messages reached your phone normally. After reconnecting — Tamit syncs all history in 1–2 minutes. Tami picks up the context and can reply.
💡 Tip
Set up a WhatsApp alert in Tamit that texts you if the connection drops for more than 15 minutes. Settings → Notifications → WhatsApp Down.
Prevention
- Keep the phone plugged in and on WiFi overnight.
- Don't let battery-saver apps kill WhatsApp.
- Going abroad for more than two weeks? Reconnect when you're back.
When to move to Cloud (official Meta)
If you depend critically on WhatsApp (10+ inquiries a day) — upgrade to WhatsApp Cloud. The official connection doesn't depend on a phone. Costs more, but 100% reliable. Planned as a future upgrade.
